Marlene has built a career around her love of sports. A former student-athlete herself, Marlene helps athletes in all sports—both boys and girls—get bigger, faster, and stronger than their opponets. Mental toughness is a key component to training in order to prepare athletes for the ups & downs of athletics.
Marlene was practically born with a basketball in her hand. She began playing at the age of 5. After 4 stellar years on the women’s basketball team at Marymount University in Arlington, VA and receiving a BA in Physical Fitness Management from Marymount in 1991, Marlene returned to the South Jersey area where she coached high school basketball for over 10 years & 2 years at the collegiate level at Rutgers-Camden University. Marlene also went on to receive her Master’s in Athletic Administration and Sports Management from Southern New Hampshire University.
As the starting guard at Marymount for 4 years, Marlene averaged 16.7 PPG and was selected to Kodak Women’s All-District Basketball Team in 1990. She was also voted Small College Player of the Year by the Al Carino Basketball Club of South Jersey in 1990 and was nominated a Division III All-American. Among her many record-setting achievements, Marlene held Marymount’s record for 4 years as the all-time leading scorer with 1,407 points, as well as the record for the most steals in a single season (1990) with 140. Currently, she holds the record at Marymount for all-time career steals with 435. Marlene was honored in 2009 and inducted into Marymount’s Athletic Hall of Fame as an outstanding athlete who made a profound impact on the University.
Marlene has spent the last 30 years as a personal trainer to middle school, high school, and collegiate athletes, as well as adults. She specializes in speed & agility training, quickness, strength training, core strength, mental toughness, and much more.
